About this movie...
‘The Spiderwick Chronicles,’ is a fantasy adventure for all of us no matter what our age. Weird things happen when the Grace family, (Jared, his twin brother Simon, (both played by Freddie Highmore) sister Mallory and their mother) move from New York into this old mysterious house.
Jared meets the elusive Thimbletack (Martin Short), a mischievous Brownie who is pink with pointy ears and lives on honey. He has lived in the house since Jared’s great-great uncle, Arthur Spiderwick, dwelled there with his daughter Lucinda, 125 years ago. Jared discovers his great-great uncle’s long locked-away book, ‘Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You’.
The story is about how the children face the goblins, an ogre and other fantastical creatures who all want to get the Spiderwick Chronicles for themselves. The children (led by Jared) work out how to beat the creatures and ensure that their home is safe for all time.
Mark Waters as director made the whole experience fun even when the children face the threats of the creatures. Freddie Highmore shows his acting brilliance in this wonderful film as he acts the two excellent parts of the twin brothers. ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ is fantastic entertainment for the whole family.
